SimpleDict is an open-source multi-platform electronic dictionary. You can select the interface´s language between English and Russian. The program works under Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP3, Ubuntu 8.10 (64 bit), OpenSuse 11.0 (64 bit), FreeBSD 7 and MacOS X. SimpleDict will allow you to import dictionaries in the SDB, XDXF, DSL, MOVA or StarDict formats. You can download those dictionaries from the SimpleDict site at http://simpledict.net23.net/dicts.html. This page will also provide you with links to other sites with thousands of free dictionaries available for downloading.

Once you download the dictionaries, you can load them in the program. Through the Manage Dictionaries function you will be able to activate or deactivate the loaded dictionaries. Then, you will be able to look for the expression you want to translate in the different target languages. You can also input a phrase using the keyboard, and find the translation you need by clicking on the right language tab. The program allows to zoom in or out the text.

A
Very nice clean software. An output to save dictionaries as CSV would be the only imrovement I could think of, as it seems to be impossible to find an XDXF to CSV utility.
